Demo guide
Try Sealbook in five minutes
The demo is a made-up implementation project between a consulting firm, Harbor Advisory, and its client, Northstar. You can switch between people on both sides, so you see what each of them sees.
If the demo takes up to a minute to open, it was asleep; it wakes on the first visit.
The people
| Person | Side | What they can do |
|---|---|---|
| Asha Rao | Firm (Harbor) | Checks suggestions, sends decisions to the client, confirms for the firm |
| Dana Whitfield | Client (Northstar) | Confirms decisions for the client, asks questions, disputes |
| Vikram Nair | Firm | Updates tasks; cannot confirm decisions |
| Leo Grant | Client | Reads shared items only |
| Pilot Admin | Firm | Manages the team and settings; cannot confirm on either side |
Switch person with "You are viewing as" at the bottom of the left menu. A second client, Orion, exists to show that one client never sees another's project.
The five-minute path
As Asha, open "To check"
Two client meetings have been read. Meeting A was only discussion, and Sealbook says so. In Meeting B, find "a rolling twelve-month average" and keep it as a decision. Look at the quote next to it: that's what was actually said.
Open the decision and confirm for the firm
Go to Decisions, open DEC-001, confirm for the firm. One seal fills. The status says it is waiting on the client; it is not agreed yet.
Switch to Dana, the client
Her "Your turn" page shows DEC-001 waiting on her. Open it, read the wording and the quotes, and confirm. Both seals fill, and the wording locks.
Ask the record
Switch back to Asha and open "Was this agreed?". Ask "was the twelve month average agreed" and then "was six month attrition agreed". The second answer is "Not as asked", because it wasn't.
Look at what the client's steering group would get
Open the Weekly report, then The record: every action you just took, sealed in order.
Done? Press "Reset demo" in the left menu and it starts again. Other people may be trying the demo at the same time, so things can move under you; reset if it gets confusing.
Things worth trying
- Add a conversation: paste a few lines of your own (made-up) meeting into "Add a conversation" and see what the reader suggests.
- Try to edit the agreed decision as Asha: you can't. You can only propose a change, which both sides then have to approve.
- As Dana, ask a question instead of confirming: the decision waits until the firm answers.
- Open Pilot results: the sheet a pilot ends with, counted from the record.
- Print the register: every decision with its fingerprint, as a PDF.
